Traditionally, biotechnology was limited to a lab setting focused on using biology to create something new. But as technology has advanced, the field has broadened to a variety of career options that create or elevate a product or process to make it useful, and today, a degree in biotechnology can go beyond a lab setting to careers in pharmaceutical companies, law firms, Fortune 100 companies, and early-stage startups, just to name a few.
